Mobile App UX UI Design Course

Programming is just a hard skill. But if you want your app to stand out, the overall user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design is more important. This course aims to make students understand how to carefully design the experience (UX) and drawing interface (UI) from the perspective of the user, and connect them into prototypes of interactive experiences for demonstration, from which they can explore career and development directions.

App Design concepts & Ideation

  • What is Experience Design (XD)

  • Analyze apps known for UX or UI

  • Describe the goals and design themes of this course

  • Introduce the basic steps of App design, from finding problems and solutions, to UX by hand-drawn draft (UI), finding user tests, and then building Wireframes before starting to build XD prototypes

Adobe XD Training

  • Create, arrange and edit Artboards

  • Discover Apple, Google and Microsoft user interface plugins

  • Create flat graphics, set graphics parameters and related advanced functions (graphic fillets, shadows, background simulation, painting tools, etc.)

  • Insert text and images, and use positional alignment

  • Responsive Resize

  • Build Wireframes into interactive prototypes (interface connections, touch element settings, etc.) (In this session, students will learn from the instructor in small groups)

Prototype Testing with Target Users

  • Preview the design in the preview window or mobile device

  • Record the user experience process as a .mov file

  • Find the target user for testing (UAT) and collect feedback

Presentation Time

  • Export artwork for Web, iOS and Android devices, and save artboards as .png, .svg and .pdf files for batch export

  • Export to After Effects (Extended Unit)

  • Extend Adobe XD with plugins

In-class Quizzes

Evaluate students' understanding of the course content, there will be several interactive game quizzes in the course.

Adobe XD

Why do we choose Adobe XD?

Adobe Experience Design is a very versatile tool for UI / UX designers because it also allows users to create interactive prototypes. Not only will we discuss the working techniques of Adobe XD, but also make our project a working site with Adobe Muse!
